What is the infrared component about?

Incrediwear is quite different from anything else on the market because it does not use compression at all in order to work, so it does NOT need to be tight. The fabric that makes up our product is semiconductive, so when it is activated by your body heat, it releases mid and far level infrared waves continuously as it is worn. These waves vibrate blood cells, causing the blood to move faster as a whole, without having to manipulate your blood vessels at all, in a process known as photobiomodulation (PBM). The increased circulation then flushes out the pain and swelling of inflammation, and brings vital nutrients to the target area much faster, speeding up the healing process and promoting nerve, muscle, and tissue health. It also does not interfere with the beneficial aspects of the natural inflammatory response, just the undesirable parts (pain and swelling). As such, Incrediwear is an ideal solution for chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and lymphedema, nerve conditions such as neuropathy, athletic performance, injury/surgery recovery, and even injury prevention! This is why several major league sports athletes and Olympians wear our product out on the field. Incrediwear is also particular effective for flushing out edema, because the infrared waves create interstitial pressures that open lymphatic valves, so that the lymphatic system can drain properly. By comparison, compression squeezes indiscriminately, which mostly just displaces edema instead of draining it. As soon as you remove the compression garment, most of that displaced edema then just goes right back where it was. Not with Incrediwear, though! Since it is not a compression garment, Incrediwear should just rest comfortably on the skin like a sock. As long as it's not compressive, it can safely be worn 24/7, and the more it is worn, the more effective it will be. We actually recommend that people sleep in the product for 2 reasons: 1) it is a good indicator that the product is not too tight or cutting off circulation, and 2) it is an easy way to get 8 or so hours of uninterrupted contact with your body while you are in "recovery mode".

Can I return a knee sleeve?. It was never worn. I have one and ordered another because I was swimming with the first one PT now tells me not to swim with it on.

Incrediwear products do not need to be tight to do their job, nor should they fit tightly! Rather, they should be just snug enough to not slide down constantly, but should not be compressive, either. I am confused about the sizes. I measure 16 4/5 inches above my knee cap and ordered an XL. But I am a small thin person ( always a size 4 or a small.) Have never worn even a large in anything. The sleeve is not tight but does sit on my leg. Might slip a little tiny bit hard to tell. How can I be sure this is the right size? I am tempted to order a M but that goes against your sizing. In contrast I was given a size small in repaired to wear under an unloader brace. Thank you in advance for clarifying

This is a common question and it is confusing because the sizing for our Knee Sleeves do not follow a traditional sizing scheme! The smallest size that we make in the Knee Sleeve is a Medium which is effectively a juvenile/youth size and 70-80% of our customer base sizes into an XL or larger! Height and weight don't really correlate to product sizing the way that actual thigh circumference does. As long as the Knee sleeve fits appropriately, and is comfortable, you can utilize Incrediwear products 24/7! Appropriate fitting items are completely safe to wear all day and night, even for prolonged periods of time. As far as appropriate fit- the sleeve should fit like a sock- snug enough to not slide down, but not tight. If any compression is occurring, the sleeve is too tight and should be exchanged for a larger size. Additionally, if it feels too tight, then it is too tight.
